According to the National Weather Service, winds will strengthen by Friday morning, with gusts reaching up to 32 mph in the Las Vegas Valley and surrounding areas. South to southwest winds between 17 and 23 mph will increase during the afternoon hours, with peak gusts expected Friday and again Saturday. I-15 travelers should prepare for possible crosswinds, particularly in open desert stretches.

Saturday brings more of the same: sunny skies but persistent gusty winds, especially in the afternoon when gusts could top 31 mph. Outdoor event planners and hikers in Red Rock Canyon or Lake Mead areas should exercise caution and secure any loose items.

Sunday offers a brief calm, with lighter winds and highs near 72°F, before sunny, dry conditions dominate through Tuesday. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-40s and 50s, cooler than seasonal norms.
