Lincoln County, NV – Lincoln County is under a freeze warning from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday, with temperatures expected to fall as low as 28 degrees. In addition, a wind advisory will be in effect from 8 p.m. Thursday through 11 p.m. Friday, bringing strong gusts of up to 45 mph.
The National Weather Service advises that residents prepare for both freezing temperatures and high winds. To protect plants, residents should cover or bring them inside, as frost and freeze conditions could damage sensitive vegetation. Outdoor plumbing should also be wrapped or drained to prevent possible freeze damage.
During the wind advisory, residents should secure any loose objects that could be affected by gusty winds, which could also knock down tree limbs and potentially cause power outages. High-profile vehicles are advised to use extra caution when traveling, as wind gusts may make driving difficult.
