Las Vegas, Nevada – Southern Nevada faces a brutal stretch of early June heat, with temperatures surging into the triple digits and health risks on the rise through Tuesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, an Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect until 10 p.m. Tuesday for Clark and Nye counties, including Las Vegas, Mesquite, and Death Valley National Park. Highs will reach 105–110°F in Las Vegas and surrounding cities, with Furnace Creek expected to approach 120°F.

The warning covers major travel corridors and recreation zones like I-15, Lake Mead, and Red Rock Canyon. Officials urge residents to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activity during peak heat, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Heat-related illnesses increase significantly in these conditions.

In Mesquite and Pahrump, highs could top 115°F, while overnight lows in the 80s offer little relief. Interior car temperatures can become deadly within minutes. NWS and OSHA recommend limiting outdoor work, wearing loose clothing, and taking frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.

This is one of the earliest and most intense June heat waves in recent years. The warning is expected to expire at 10 p.m. Tuesday, but elevated heat may continue later in the week.
