Omaha, NE – Nebraska residents are waking up to freezing temperatures this weekend as Omaha remains under a Frost Watch through early Sunday morning. With temperatures dipping into the mid-20s overnight, residents should prepare for frost conditions before a gradual warm-up begins midweek.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a Frost Watch remains in effect for eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, including Omaha, Lincoln, and Council Bluffs. Overnight temperatures are expected to hover near 26°F, with clear skies leading to frost formation. Officials recommend protecting sensitive plants, outdoor pipes, and exposed water lines to prevent damage.

Sunday will remain chilly, with daytime highs struggling to reach 40°F, but warmer air moves in by Monday, bringing highs near 50°F. By Tuesday and Wednesday, Omaha could experience spring-like temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Despite the warming trend, residents should be prepared for stronger winds early in the week, with gusts up to 25 mph Monday and Tuesday. Dry conditions will dominate, reducing the risk of precipitation through at least midweek.

Looking ahead, Nebraska’s early March weather will see fluctuating temperatures but no major storms in the forecast. Stay updated with local advisories and take precautions for cold mornings and mild afternoons this week.
