According to the National Weather Service, a mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow will begin early Wednesday morning and persist through the afternoon. By Thanksgiving Day, the skies are expected to clear, but temperatures will remain frigid, with lows around 18 degrees overnight into Thursday. Winds could reach up to 30 mph, making conditions feel even colder.
Thursday morning will bring partly cloudy skies with high temperatures near 38 degrees, offering a brief respite for Thanksgiving celebrations. However, the cold snap will return overnight, with temperatures dropping to 14 degrees by Friday morning. Drivers heading home from gatherings on Friday night may face another round of light snow, with a 20% chance of precipitation after midnight.
The extended five-day forecast predicts mostly sunny skies for the weekend, with highs in the low-to-mid 30s. Despite clear conditions, subfreezing overnight temperatures will linger, so residents should take precautions to protect exposed pipes and outdoor animals.
