Hastings, NE – Light freezing drizzle is expected to develop late tonight, creating potentially slick roads across south-central Nebraska, especially east of Highway 281. The National Weather Service warns that untreated surfaces could become hazardous through early Wednesday morning.

According to the NWS, freezing drizzle may persist through noon Wednesday, particularly in low-lying areas and overpasses. Drivers should use caution during morning commutes, as slick conditions are possible. Temperatures will remain cold, with lows around 21°F tonight and highs reaching 44°F on Thursday.

The forecast for the rest of the week includes mostly sunny skies on Thursday and Friday, with highs in the mid-40s. Clouds return Friday night, bringing slightly colder temperatures into Saturday. By Sunday, highs will reach the upper 30s with partly sunny skies.

Motorists should stay alert for changing conditions and check weather updates before traveling. Salted roads may improve conditions, but black ice remains a concern in shaded areas. For the latest forecasts, visit weather.gov/hastings.
