According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, a 30% chance of thunderstorms begins after 1 p.m. Monday, followed by a 40% chance of storms Monday night. Rainfall amounts could reach a quarter inch, with localized pockets of heavier downpours possible, especially along US-281 and Highway 6.

The rest of the week brings daily shifts in weather, making planning tricky for residents and travelers. Tuesday offers a brief reprieve with partly sunny skies and a high near 86°F, but another 30% chance of storms returns Tuesday night, mainly before 1 a.m.

Wednesday brings a welcome break with sunny skies and a high near 89°F, but don’t put away the umbrellas yet. A new storm chance builds late Thursday into Thursday night and continues into Friday night, with highs staying in the low-to-mid 80s through the weekend.
