Hastings, NE — A Freeze Watch and Frost Advisory will take effect early Monday across parts of Nebraska. The warning is expected to begin at 1:00 a.m. and last until 9:00 a.m.
The Freeze Watch includes counties north of I-80 and west of Highway 281, excluding Hall County. Meanwhile, the Frost Advisory applies to all Nebraska counties not covered by the Freeze Watch. According to the National Weather Service, counties in Kansas, including Phillips, are also included in the advisory.
A Freeze Watch signals the potential for widespread temperatures to fall at or below freezing. A Frost Advisory warns of patchy frost areas. Both conditions can harm crops, vegetation, and outdoor plants. Residents are advised to protect sensitive plants and cover gardens.
