Hastings, NE – Nebraska is in for a dramatic temperature rollercoaster, with a nearly 60-degree swing expected over the next few days. After an icy start, a major warmup will bring spring-like conditions by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in Hastings will bottom out at 7°F overnight before climbing to 38°F on Saturday under sunny skies. Sunday will see a further increase, reaching 44°F, while Monday jumps to 55°F. The warmest day of the stretch will be Tuesday, with highs soaring to 64°F—nearly 30 degrees above average for February.

Despite the daytime warmth, nights will remain chilly, with lows dipping into the 30s. Light winds between 5-10 mph from the west and southwest will keep conditions comfortable, and no precipitation is expected through at least Friday.

These extreme shifts in temperature can lead to slick morning roads as any moisture refreezes overnight. Drivers should remain cautious, especially in shaded areas and bridges.

With sunshine and unseasonably warm weather ahead, Nebraskans should take advantage of outdoor opportunities before conditions shift again. Stay tuned for updates as the week progresses.
