Nashville, TN – Heavy rain and gusty winds will persist across Middle Tennessee through the weekend as Tropical Cyclone Helene moves through the area, but calmer weather is expected by Monday. A Flood Watch remains in effect until Saturday morning, with rainfall totals reaching up to 5 inches in some areas, including along I-65 and I-40. Winds could reach speeds of up to 40 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions through Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, Nashville has already received 0.75 inches of rain, with Crossville recording over 1.6 inches. A Wind Advisory is in place until Saturday, and residents should stay alert to potential flooding, especially on low-lying roads.

The weather will start to clear by Sunday afternoon, and Monday promises milder conditions, with temperatures in the mid-70s and partly sunny skies. After a weekend of heavy rain, commuters can expect a more comfortable drive to work on Monday, though roads may still be wet. Stay tuned for updates, and exercise caution until the weather system fully clears out early next week.
