A pale mist clings to streetlights across Middle Tennessee this morning as freezing fog grips the region, turning familiar roads into slick, glassy hazards. Temperatures near 32°F make every overpass and side street a potential ice patch, and drivers in and around Nashville are urged to move slowly and use low beams while traveling before 9 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, a Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect through midmorning, covering Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford, and surrounding counties. Visibility has fallen below half a mile in many areas, and thin layers of ice may coat windshields, bridges, and elevated surfaces. Commuters are advised to leave early, avoid sudden stops, and keep headlights on to improve visibility.

As the sun climbs, the fog should gradually lift, revealing a mild Sunday afternoon with highs near 50°F. The short reprieve will be followed by a cooler Monday with highs in the mid-40s before another light fog chance returns early Tuesday.

Beyond Tuesday, temperatures trend upward, peaking near the upper 50s by midweek, before another weak cold front sweeps in late Thursday. While snow isn’t in the cards for Nashville yet, meteorologists note that long-range models hint at a colder, more active pattern developing across the Ohio Valley and Mid-South from December 11–17, with potential frost or light wintry mix in northern counties.
