Nashville, TN – Middle Tennessee residents should prepare for heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and potential road hazards as Tropical Cyclone Helene continues to affect the region today and through the weekend. Up to 5 inches of rain is expected by Saturday, with Flood Watches in effect across areas including Nashville, Crossville, and Clarksville. Winds will increase to 20 mph, with gusts of up to 40 mph, potentially creating hazardous driving conditions, especially along I-40 and I-65.

According to the National Weather Service, Nashville has already received 0.75 inches of rain, with more to come. The risk of severe storms is low, but occasional thunder may occur. A Wind Advisory remains active for all of Middle Tennessee until Saturday morning. Residents are urged to avoid low-lying roads and exercise caution while driving. Flooded roadways could become dangerous, so avoid crossing them if possible.

The rain should ease by Sunday, bringing cooler temperatures. Early next week, expect milder weather with highs in the mid-70s. Stay updated with the latest forecasts and travel warnings throughout the weekend to ensure safety.
