Egan, LA – A New Iberia man died early Wednesday in a motorcycle crash on I-10 East near the Egan exit. Terrance Delahoussaye, 46, was riding his 2021 Harley-Davidson when he lost control of the motorcycle.
According to Louisiana State Police, Delahoussaye’s motorcycle veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail, ejecting him from the bike. Despite wearing a helmet, Delahoussaye died at the scene due to his injuries.
The crash occurred shortly before 6 a.m. Authorities have taken toxicology samples, and the investigation is ongoing. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
State Police stressed the importance of motorcycle safety and encouraged riders to take approved safety courses. They noted that proper training and helmet use could help prevent similar tragedies.
