Billings, MT – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for multiple regions in Montana, with snow and strong winds expected to impact travel conditions through Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Billings, snowfall will begin early Thursday at 2 a.m. and continue until at least 5 a.m. Friday. Snow accumulations are expected to range from 1 to 10 inches, with the heaviest snowfall forecasted in the Pryor/Northern Bighorn Mountains. Wind gusts could reach up to 40 mph, leading to blowing and drifting snow.

The advisory covers the Livingston area, Paradise Valley, Southern Big Horn, Southeastern Carbon, Bighorn Canyon, Northern Stillwater, Northern Sweet Grass, Northern Carbon, and the Pryor/Northern Bighorn Mountains. Interstate 90, particularly around Livingston and Big Timber, as well as Highway 310 and Highway 212, may experience hazardous conditions due to reduced visibility and slick roads.

Travelers are urged to exercise caution, as the storm is expected to affect both the Thursday morning and evening commutes. Recreational activities in higher elevations will also be impacted by heavy snowfall.
