Bozeman, MT – Montana could see its first widespread snow of the season before Thanksgiving, as colder Pacific air meets a strengthening northern storm track across the Rockies, according to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC).
The October 24, 2025 NOAA outlook calls for warmer, dry conditions early this month. However, by November 10–20, the pattern is expected to flip — bringing light to moderate snow to Billings, Bozeman, and Missoula, with heavier mountain accumulation likely along the Continental Divide and Rocky Mountain Front.
Forecasters say totals could range from 1–3 inches in valleys to 6+ inches in higher terrain. Roads along I-90 and I-15 could become slick and icy, particularly during overnight and early-morning hours leading up to Thanksgiving week.
NOAA says this event will likely mark the start of Montana’s winter season, setting the tone for colder and snowier conditions heading into December.
