Great Falls, MT – Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30°F below zero are affecting north-central Montana, with a Cold Weather Advisory in effect until 11 AM MST Thursday.
According to the NWS in Great Falls, affected areas include Great Falls, Helena, Cut Bank, and Lewistown. Frostbite can develop in less than 30 minutes if skin is exposed.
Residents should wear appropriate winter clothing, avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure, and check on vulnerable individuals. Temperatures will gradually rise after 11 AM, but subzero wind chills may persist in some areas.
