Montana Snowstorm: 6-12 Inches Expected in Pryor and Bighorn Mountains Through Wednesday Evening

Billings, MT – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for several regions of Montana and Wyoming until 6 PM MDT Wednesday, with snow and gusty winds continuing to impact travel and recreation.

According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations are expected to range from 6 to 12 inches in the Pryor and Northern Bighorn Mountains, as well as in Wyoming’s Northeast Bighorn Mountains. Winds will gust up to 40 mph, creating difficult conditions for travel, particularly along Highway 14.

In the Red Lodge Foothills, snow totals could reach up to 5 inches, with winds gusting to 30 mph, posing risks for slippery roads, particularly during the Wednesday morning commute.

Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches are expected in the Southern Big Horn and Sheridan Foothills areas, as well as portions of central and south-central Montana, including Livingston and Judith Gap. These areas will also experience gusty winds up to 35 mph.
