Philadelphia, PA – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania as mixed precipitation is expected to create hazardous conditions through early Sunday morning. The National Weather Service warns of snow, sleet, and ice accumulation that could lead to treacherous travel and minor power outages.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ, the advisory covers Warren, Hunterdon, Somerset, Morris, and Sussex counties in New Jersey, as well as Lehigh, Northampton, Berks, Upper Bucks, Western Montgomery, Carbon, and Monroe counties in Pennsylvania. Snow and sleet accumulations will range from 1 to 4 inches, with ice accumulation up to 0.3 inches in some areas. Higher elevations are expected to see the most significant impacts.

The storm is expected to begin around noon Saturday and persist into early Sunday, with the heaviest precipitation occurring in the evening hours. Slippery roads, reduced visibility, and possible tree and power line damage could lead to travel disruptions.

Officials urge residents to use caution, reduce travel if possible, and stay updated on road conditions by calling 511. Temperatures are expected to remain near freezing, prolonging the risk of icy conditions into Sunday morning.
