According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, the first advisory remains in effect until noon Tuesday, with additional light snow and ice accumulations. A second advisory begins at midnight and extends through 9 p.m. Wednesday, bringing up to an inch of snow and sleet and up to one-tenth of an inch of ice in counties including Greene, Texas, Webster, and Wright.
Residents in areas such as Howell, Christian, and Lawrence counties should also expect slippery roads, especially during the morning and evening commutes. Southeast Kansas and central Missouri, including Bourbon, Jasper, and Camden counties, could see higher snow totals of up to four inches.
