Missouri, Western Illinois Brace for Heavy Rains and Flooding Threats

St. Louis, MO – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Missouri and western Illinois through Thursday evening, predicting heavy rain from multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms. The intense rainfall could lead to flooding in typically dry areas, posing significant risks to drivers.

According to the forecast, St. Louis can expect a 95% chance of rain today, with temperatures reaching a high of 87°F. The rain is expected to persist throughout the morning and early afternoon before tapering off.

The weather will improve on Friday, with partly cloudy skies and a high of 84°F. Sunny conditions are expected over the weekend, with highs of 85°F on Saturday and 89°F on Sunday. Rain is likely to return on Monday, with a 35% chance of showers and a high of 85°F.

Moderate air quality is reported, with an index of 63, similar to previous levels. Residents should stay updated on weather alerts and exercise caution in flood-prone areas.
