Kansas City, Missouri – A warm, sunny weekend is underway across Missouri, with highs climbing into the low 80s through Sunday before rain chances rise for the start of the workweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City, dry conditions will dominate Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures reaching 84°F in some areas. Sunshine and above-normal warmth will continue through Sunday evening, offering ideal conditions for outdoor plans across much of the state.

By Monday afternoon, central and eastern Missouri could see a shift. The NWS notes a 45% chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms, particularly during the late afternoon and early evening. While no severe weather is expected, cities like Columbia, Jefferson City, and Rolla should prepare for brief downpours or minor travel disruptions during the Monday evening commute.

Drivers should stay alert to changing conditions early next week and consider checking for localized updates, especially if commuting across I-70 or Highway 63. Those relying on weekend heat to open pools or start garden projects should take advantage of the clear window before unsettled weather returns.

Rain chances decrease to less than 20% by Tuesday, but temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 70s. Additional updates from the NWS may be issued Sunday evening as Monday’s system develops.
