Kansas City, Missouri – Rain will gradually clear much of Missouri this morning, with lingering showers and isolated thunderstorms expected in central and southern parts of the state, primarily south of US-50. These conditions are forecast to persist through the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

As of early Tuesday, the worst of the rain should exit by mid-morning, but scattered showers will remain, particularly from the Kansas City area south through counties like Springfield and Lebanon. Areas south of US-50 could see brief thunderstorms, but the storms are not expected to become severe. The weather service urges residents to stay alert for localized flooding on roads, especially in southern Missouri.

Temperatures across the state will warm throughout the day, with highs ranging from the mid-60s in the north to the mid-70s further south. After today, dry conditions and warmer temperatures are expected to settle in through the weekend, bringing a welcome break from the rain.

For now, it’s recommended to plan for wet roads during the morning commute, particularly south of US-50. Be prepared for a sunnier end to the week with temperatures rising into the 70s and 80s by Friday.
