Springfield, MO – The first full week of February kicks off with unseasonably warm temperatures across Missouri before midweek storms shake things up. Residents can expect highs reaching the low-to-mid 70s Monday before a strong cold front brings showers and thunderstorms by Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be mostly sunny with highs near 73°F, followed by increasing cloud cover Tuesday and a 40% chance of showers overnight. Wednesday will see a higher chance of thunderstorms as temperatures reach 64°F before dropping into the 40s overnight.

Thursday and Friday bring cooler, drier conditions, with highs in the mid-50s and overnight lows near freezing. Those with outdoor plans should take advantage of Monday’s warmth before the midweek storms move in. Drivers should also be prepared for reduced visibility and wet roads, especially Wednesday evening.

Missourians should stay updated on weather alerts as conditions may change. The National Weather Service advises keeping an eye on forecasts for potential severe weather midweek.
