Kansas City, MO — A windy Tuesday storm system could complicate afternoon travel and outdoor plans across Kansas City and much of western Missouri.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers and possible thunderstorms are expected to develop after 1 p.m. Tuesday. Winds from the south will intensify between 10 to 14 mph, with gusts reaching up to 37 mph. Rain chances increase into Tuesday night with a 50% likelihood of precipitation, especially along major roadways like I-35 and I-70, where reduced visibility could hamper the evening commute.

Wednesday brings a continued chance of morning showers before skies gradually clear by afternoon. Highs will reach near 70°F. Light rain remains possible into early Thursday, though conditions will generally trend drier midweek.
