Kansas City, MO – Missourians will enjoy a warm, dry weekend before temperatures surge into the upper 80s and isolated storms return early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City, dry conditions will hold through Sunday, but a significant warmup begins Monday. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 80s by Wednesday and Thursday, with a low-end chance of some locations briefly touching 90 degrees. Kansas City, St. Joseph, and Sedalia could see highs near 89°F midweek, well above seasonal averages.

Scattered showers and a few isolated storms are possible Monday and Tuesday, primarily across central and eastern Missouri. While no severe storms are expected at this time, residents in Columbia, Jefferson City, and Moberly should stay weather-aware during early-week commutes.

With the heat building, health officials recommend staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours.

Another round of precipitation is possible toward the end of next week, with more detailed updates expected by Tuesday.
