St. Louis, Missouri – A weak but fast-moving tornado touched down in Wildwood Tuesday afternoon, snapping trees and damaging homes before dissipating near I-64 in Chesterfield just 10 minutes later.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, the EF-1 tornado formed at 2:50 p.m. on June 4 near the intersection of Highway 109 and Babler Road. It traveled northeast for 6.8 miles, reaching a maximum width of 300 yards before lifting at 3:00 p.m. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

Tree damage and minor shingle and siding damage were observed along the storm’s path, especially in suburban areas near Chesterfield Parkway and Clarkson Valley. Several large limbs blocked roadways briefly, and power outages were reported in pockets near the Wildwood Town Center.

Residents are advised to review severe weather safety plans as this marks the first confirmed tornado in the area this season. The EF-1 classification indicates wind speeds between 86–110 mph, capable of causing moderate damage.

Though no additional tornadoes are currently expected, the NWS encourages residents to stay alert through the weekend as unsettled weather could continue into Sunday.
