Kansas City, MO – Light snow is forecast to develop tonight across north-central Missouri, potentially creating hazardous driving conditions through Wednesday morning. Up to an inch of snow is possible in some areas, especially along and north of Interstate 70 and east of Highway 35.

According to the National Weather Service, snow is expected to begin late Tuesday night, with the heaviest bands producing isolated higher accumulations. Reduced visibility and slick roads are the main concerns for drivers, particularly during the early morning commute on Wednesday. Officials recommend reducing speeds and allowing extra travel time.

Tonight’s low is expected to dip to 25°F, with winds shifting northwest at 10 to 15 mph and gusting up to 25 mph. Snow flurries are likely to taper off by midday Wednesday as skies clear, with temperatures reaching a high of 31°F.

The extended forecast shows sunny skies and highs near 40°F through Thursday, offering a brief reprieve before another chance of precipitation returns on Friday. Rain is likely Friday night into early Saturday, but no additional snow is expected.

Motorists traveling along I-70 and Highway 36 tonight should remain vigilant and check updated road conditions before heading out.
