Springfield, MO – Missouri residents in multiple counties are under a tornado watch until 9 p.m. CST tonight as a severe weather system moves through the area. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that conditions are favorable for tornadoes, with potential for hail and high winds.

According to the NWS, isolated hail could reach up to ping-pong ball size, and wind gusts may hit speeds of up to 70 mph. Counties under watch include Springfield, Joplin, and Bolivar, affecting over 1.8 million residents, with schools and hospitals also at risk.
