Springfield, MO – Residents across the Missouri Ozarks should prepare for a stormy stretch beginning Tuesday, with the potential for damaging winds, hail, and localized flooding lasting through the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, isolated strong to severe thunderstorms may develop Tuesday afternoon and evening, especially west of Highway 65. Wind gusts could reach 60 mph and hail up to the size of quarters is possible. Scattered showers and storms are also expected to persist nightly through Friday, with rain chances ranging from 60% to 90%.

Cities including Springfield, Branson, Rolla, and West Plains could see multiple rounds of heavy rain. Commuters along I-44 and Route 60 should plan for delays during peak evening hours, especially Tuesday night. While no watches are in effect yet, forecasters note the risk of flash flooding later in the week as the ground becomes saturated.

Officials advise residents to charge electronic devices, avoid travel during storms, and secure outdoor objects that could become airborne in strong winds.
