Springfield, MO – Residents across Missouri should prepare for an active weather pattern this weekend, with fire danger on Saturday giving way to thunderstorms late Sunday into early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, gusty winds up to 25 mph and low humidity levels will create an elevated fire risk across southern Missouri and southeast Kansas today. Dry conditions will persist through Saturday night before rain and storms return on Sunday.
