Missouri–Illinois — The Gateway Arch rises over a crisp, quiet morning as cold air lingers across the St. Louis metro. Temperatures sit near 33°F, but the chill will not last long.

Sunlight spreads across the Mississippi River valley as the day unfolds. Clear skies and strengthening sunshine quickly begin warming the region.

Temperatures climb steadily toward 57°F this afternoon. The air will feel much more like early spring across both Missouri and Illinois.

Winds remain light early but gradually turn southwest later in the day. That shift signals a warming trend building across the Midwest.

By evening, clouds begin increasing as milder air continues to push north. Temperatures settle into the mid-40s tonight, noticeably warmer than recent nights.

Mild spring weather continues heading into the end of the week. Afternoon temperatures reach around 61°F, with partly sunny skies across the St. Louis area.

Saturday brings another pleasant day. Expect partly sunny skies and highs near 64°F, ideal weather for outdoor plans across the metro.

However, meteorologists are now tracking a stronger storm system developing across the Plains.

Rain becomes increasingly likely Sunday afternoon across eastern Missouri and southwest Illinois. Temperatures may reach the upper 60s before the front arrives.

Conditions change quickly by late evening. Colder air rushing in behind the storm could mix rain with snow overnight, especially as temperatures drop sharply.

Strong winds may follow the system early next week. Drivers should watch for blowing debris and shifting road conditions along Interstate 64, Interstate 44, and Interstate 70.

Spring break travel continues ramping up across the Midwest. Travelers should plan extra time Sunday as weather conditions deteriorate later in the day.

Longer-range signals hint at warmer-than-average temperatures returning late next week as spring slowly takes hold.

Five-Day Outlook – St. Louis, Missouri–Illinois

Today – Sunny. High near 57°F.
Tonight – Increasing clouds. Low near 45°F.
Friday – Partly sunny. High near 61°F.
Saturday – Partly sunny and mild. High near 64°F.
Sunday – Rain likely and breezy. High near 68°F, turning colder with rain possibly mixing with snow late.
