Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky to Swelter Under 107° Heat Index, Weekend Storms Expected

Paducah, KY – A significant heatwave is set to impact Missouri, Illinois, and Kentucky this week, with heat indices reaching up to 107°. The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Tuesday from noon to 8 PM, warning of dangerous conditions that could lead to heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and dehydration.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures on Tuesday are expected to soar between 94-97°, creating hazardous conditions. Relief may come midweek with a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday. However, the hot and humid conditions will return by Saturday, with temperatures again reaching the mid-90s.

Afternoon heat indices are projected to be around 105° on Saturday, accompanied by a slight chance of showers and storms. The weekend will see temperatures remain in the 90s, with thunderstorms possible on both Saturday and Sunday, providing brief respite from the intense heat.
