St. Louis, MO – Missouri is preparing for gusty winds on Friday night as the remnants of Hurricane Helene pass through the region. According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, wind gusts may reach up to 45 mph, particularly in areas east of the Mississippi River. Sustained winds of 30 mph are also expected.

The advisory warns residents to secure loose outdoor objects, as the strong winds could cause them to blow away. High-profile vehicles, including trucks and RVs, may find driving more difficult due to the gusty conditions.

According to NWS St. Louis, the windy weather is expected to last from Friday morning through the night. Residents should exercise caution when driving and avoid parking near trees or other objects that could fall in the wind.

Friday’s windy conditions are attributed to Hurricane Helene’s remnants moving eastward, increasing wind intensity. The NWS recommends taking extra precautions to ensure safety on the road and at home.
