Little America, WY – A minor earthquake shook the area near Little America early Wednesday morning, according to seismic data.
The 2.7 magnitude tremor occurred at 6:30 a.m. UTC, just northeast of Little America, at a shallow depth of -2 kilometers. The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reviewed and confirmed the event.
Residents in nearby areas are encouraged to report if they felt the tremor. Public contributions help scientists understand how earthquakes are experienced locally. Reports can be submitted through the United States Geological Survey’s (USGS) “Felt Report” platform.
