Duluth, MN – Freezing drizzle is creating potentially hazardous conditions across northern Wisconsin and parts of northeastern Minnesota early this morning. Commuters are urged to exercise caution, as roads could become slick before conditions improve by midday.
According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, freezing drizzle is expected to taper off before noon today, giving way to mostly cloudy skies. Gusty north winds will persist throughout the day, with temperatures hovering around 32 degrees. Drivers on US Highway 53 and State Route 13 should allow extra time for travel and reduce speeds as road conditions may vary.
Looking ahead, weather conditions will stabilize for much of the week. Tuesday will see partly sunny skies with a high near 30, while Christmas Day brings similar mild weather, featuring highs in the mid-30s under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will remain calm, allowing for safe holiday travel across the region.
By Thursday, temperatures will climb to 37 degrees, accompanied by increased cloud cover. However, rain chances return Friday, especially in the afternoon. Highs are forecast to reach 41 degrees, with a mix of precipitation possible in some areas.
