Duluth, MN – A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday for Southern Cook and Southern Lake Counties, including Grand Marais, Two Harbors, and Silver Bay.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, snowfall is expected to begin late Saturday morning, with the heaviest accumulation occurring Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. Total snow accumulation is forecasted to be between 5 and 8 inches, with some areas potentially reaching 10 inches. Winds could gust up to 35 mph, reducing visibility and making travel hazardous.

Travel Impact:

•   Roads, including MN-61 and MN-1, may become slick and difficult to navigate.
•   Visibility could be significantly reduced due to blowing snow.
•   Heaviest snowfall rates may exceed 0.5 inches per hour at times.
