Minneapolis, MN – Frigid temperatures will ease across Minnesota this weekend as a warming trend begins, setting the stage for a milder Christmas week.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Saturday’s highs will reach around 18°F under partly cloudy skies, though wind chills may make it feel as low as -10°F in the morning. Overnight lows will drop to 13°F, with calm winds turning south at 5 to 10 mph.
On Sunday, temperatures will rise to near 30°F, with mostly cloudy skies and a south-southeast breeze at 10 mph. A 20% chance of light snow is expected after midnight into early Monday, potentially causing slick spots on the roads, but accumulation is likely to be minor. Monday will be partly sunny with highs around 31°F, and winds shifting northwest by nightfall.
The warming trend continues Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs of 32°F to 35°F expected and mostly cloudy skies. Travel conditions should remain clear, offering a stress-free lead-up to Christmas Day.
