Duluth, Minnesota – After a dry and steadily warming stretch, scattered rain showers and a chance of thunderstorms could return to northern Minnesota by Tuesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 70s by Friday, with Monday potentially reaching the 80s in inland areas. While conditions will remain mostly dry through the weekend, rain chances increase significantly Tuesday evening into Wednesday, with the highest likelihood for showers in the overnight hours.

Communities along the North Shore and near Lake Superior—like Two Harbors and Grand Marais—will see cooler highs in the 50s and 60s through the period due to lake influence. Meanwhile, interior cities such as Hibbing and Cloquet can expect warmer afternoons in the upper 70s, making it a good weekend for outdoor plans.

While early next week stays mild, Tuesday night could bring scattered storms, especially in northeastern counties. Residents should be alert for changing conditions and possible thunderstorm development. Roads may become slick during overnight showers.

Temperatures will dip slightly after Wednesday, but overall warmth continues. Further updates and potential advisories are expected early next week if rain chances strengthen.
