Minneapolis, MN – A tornado watch has been issued for the majority of Minnesota, placing over 5 million residents on high alert.
According to the US National Weather Service Twin Cities, the watch is in effect until 8 p.m. CDT Tuesday. The watch area includes major cities such as Minneapolis, St. Paul, Duluth, and surrounding regions. Meteorologists warn that conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms, which could produce a few tornadoes, scattered hail up to two inches in diameter, and wind gusts reaching 70 mph.
