Saint Paul, Minnesota – A round of isolated storms may roll through Minnesota Thursday, threatening to disrupt travel near Saint Paul by afternoon. Drivers on I-94 and Highway 52 should expect slick pavement and brief downpours between 2 and 8 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen, the greatest chance for thunderstorm activity arrives Thursday after lunch, with a 20% chance of isolated storms continuing into the early evening. Winds will remain calm, but shifting northwest breezes may help push the system eastward by nightfall.

Conditions improve quickly by Thursday night, with mostly clear skies and a mild low near 57°F. Friday launches a stretch of dry, sunny weather across the Twin Cities. Highs will climb to 84°F by afternoon, marking the beginning of a summer-like weekend pattern.

Saturday and Sunday remain warm and bright, with high temperatures in the low 80s and minimal cloud cover. Overnight lows stay comfortably in the upper 50s. Breezes out of the south and southwest will make conditions feel warmer, particularly during peak sun hours.

Looking ahead, Monday continues the summer preview, but storm chances return Monday night into Tuesday. The National Weather Service calls for a 40% chance of evening showers Monday, rising to 60% Tuesday with possible gusts up to 25 mph.

Warnings remain minimal through Sunday, but drivers and outdoor planners should stay alert Thursday afternoon for rapidly changing storm conditions.
