Twin Cities, MN — A line of showers and weak storms is expected to move through western Minnesota this evening. While these storms will weaken as they move east, residents should be prepared for possible showers overnight. Warm temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s are forecasted for today, with storm chances increasing by late Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, the best chance for thunderstorms will arrive Wednesday night into Thursday, as temperatures remain in the low 80s. Additionally, tonight’s skies will feature a rare astronomical event—a supermoon and partial lunar eclipse, beginning at 8:41 PM EST and continuing until early Wednesday morning.

However, visibility for the eclipse may be affected by cloud cover and storms, so local weather conditions will play a key role in how much of the event can be seen. Residents are encouraged to monitor weather reports and take advantage of clear skies early tonight if possible. Prepare for shifting weather patterns later in the week, and stay updated with the latest forecast for safety.
