Duluth, MN – Residents of Duluth are bracing for a chilly week as single-digit temperatures and lake-effect snow are expected to impact the area. A cold front moving through on Tuesday will bring light snowfall, with accumulations of 2 inches or less, and bitterly cold winds.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s high will reach just 14 degrees, with gusty northwest winds up to 15 mph making it feel even colder. Snowfall will primarily affect areas along the South Shore, starting Tuesday morning and continuing through Wednesday. While snow totals are expected to remain light, drivers should plan for slippery conditions, especially on main roadways like I-35.

By Wednesday, the forecast improves slightly, with mostly sunny skies and highs around 14 degrees. Overnight lows throughout the week will drop to the single digits, so residents are urged to take precautions against freezing temperatures by protecting pipes and outdoor pets.

Looking further ahead, Thursday will bring a brief warm-up, with highs nearing 21 degrees before another cold front moves in. By the weekend, light snow chances return Saturday and Sunday, alongside highs in the low 20s.

With winter weather expected to affect roads and visibility, travelers should monitor conditions closely and allow extra time for commutes. Stay updated on weather alerts and prepare for colder conditions throughout the week.
