Saint Paul, Minnesota – A mix of scattered thunderstorms and showers could disrupt commutes and outdoor plans across Saint Paul by Wednesday afternoon, just as highs creep toward the mid-70s.

According to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen, showers are expected to develop between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, with a 30% chance of rain across Ramsey County. Winds will stay light, but the combination of damp roads and reduced visibility could affect travel along I-94 and other high-traffic corridors through the evening.

Localized downpours and brief thunderstorms are possible, especially between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Although no flood watches are active, drivers should reduce speeds and remain alert for slick roads. Outdoor events should have tents or indoor options ready.

Thursday marks the beginning of a major shift. Clear skies and sunshine return with highs in the upper 70s and light breezes—ideal for early summer outings. Friday continues the warming trend, peaking near 86°F under mostly clear skies, before a slight chance of showers returns Friday night.

Looking ahead:

  • Saturday: Mostly clear, breezy and warm, high near 85°F
  • Sunday: Sunny with summerlike highs near 88°F
  • Monday: Clear skies continue with temps in the high 80s

While Wednesday brings the only real weather hiccup, the rest of the week looks ideal for summer plans. More updates will follow if additional rain chances develop for Friday night.
