Minneapolis, Minnesota – Rain will taper off across the Twin Cities late Thursday night, but wet roads and patchy fog may linger into the Friday morning commute.

According to the US National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, precipitation will end early Friday as clouds gradually clear from west to east. Daytime highs will rise into the upper 50s to low 60s, offering a noticeable warm-up after a damp start.

Roadways across Minneapolis, St. Paul, and surrounding suburbs may remain slick through early morning hours, especially on bridges and overpasses. Drivers are urged to allow extra time and use headlights during periods of low visibility. No flooding is expected, but low-lying areas could stay damp into midday.

Saturday brings a springlike shift, with sunshine and highs in the low to mid-60s expected across most of central and southern Minnesota. This will be the warmest stretch in over a week and a welcome break from gray skies.

Rain is not expected to return until early next week, with more updates likely Friday afternoon as the weekend forecast firms up.
