Duluth, Minn. – Rain and snow will return to Duluth by Sunday night, creating hazardous travel conditions across northern Minnesota as strong winds gust up to 25 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, an 80% chance of precipitation will begin late Sunday, with rain becoming mixed with snow by early Monday. Overnight lows will hover around 36°F before climbing to a high of 48°F Monday afternoon. Little to no snow accumulation is expected, but slick roads may develop, especially on elevated surfaces and bridges.

Breezy conditions will continue through Monday with northeast winds gusting up to 25 mph. Areas like Hermantown, Proctor, and along U.S. Highway 53 could experience reduced visibility and wet pavement during Monday morning’s commute.

Residents are advised to use caution while driving, ensure vehicles are winter-ready, and monitor local road conditions. While no formal winter advisories have been issued as of early Saturday, updates could follow depending on overnight model trends.

Conditions should clear briefly by Monday night before another round of rain returns Tuesday. Stay weather-aware, as more alerts may be issued if conditions worsen.
