Duluth, Minnesota – Showers will roll into Duluth by early afternoon Thursday, bringing gusty winds and soggy roads just in time for the lunch rush.

According to the National Weather Service, showers are likely after 1 p.m. on Thursday, with a 70% chance of rain and east winds between 15 and 20 mph. Gusts could reach 30 mph by midday, impacting travel along I-35 and U.S. Highway 61. Commuters should expect slower traffic and potential ponding in low-lying areas.

Temperatures will remain cool throughout the day, with a high near 59°F. Thursday night continues the wet trend with more rain possible and lows dipping to 46°F. Winds will stay strong, shifting slightly northeast and maintaining gusts near 25 mph.

Friday won’t offer much of a break. Showers are likely again, especially before 1 p.m., followed by cloudy skies and highs around 53°F. While the weekend brings some relief — partly sunny skies and milder winds — temperatures remain in the 50s and 60s through Sunday.

Residents should keep umbrellas handy and delay yardwork or outdoor events until late Saturday. If traveling, watch for slick roads, especially in rural areas. More showers are possible Monday and Tuesday, along with potential thunderstorms.
