Duluth, Minn. – Sunshine and spring warmth are set to blanket northern Minnesota this week, with inland highs climbing into the mid to upper 70s through Tuesday while cooler conditions linger near Lake Superior.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, a lake breeze off Superior will cap shoreline temperatures in the 50s and 60s Sunday afternoon, while areas like Hibbing and Grand Rapids could push into the upper 70s. The warm and mostly dry pattern is expected to last through at least Wednesday, with just a few patchy clouds developing Tuesday into Wednesday.

Cities such as International Falls, Ely, and Brainerd will see daytime highs in the mid-60s to low 70s early in the week. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s and 40s, making for large daily temperature swings. Winds will remain light and variable, with a stronger breeze off the lake keeping Duluth and Two Harbors several degrees cooler than inland areas.

Residents should hydrate, limit outdoor activity during peak heat, and remain aware of localized fire danger due to dry air and light wind. No rain is expected during this stretch.

This unseasonably warm spell continues through midweek, with another weather update expected by Wednesday morning.
