Duluth, Minnesota – Thunderstorms, smoky skies, and shifting winds will define Tuesday’s weather across northeast Minnesota, as highs in Duluth approach 76°F.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, areas of smoke will linger into the afternoon Tuesday, especially between noon and 3 p.m. While conditions stay mostly sunny, a 20% chance of thunderstorms will develop into the evening. Winds will shift from the west around 10 mph, gusting up to 25 mph.

Travelers along Skyline Parkway and surrounding roadways should prepare for reduced visibility in smoky conditions and slick pavement if showers develop. While rainfall amounts remain light, isolated storms may bring gusty winds and lightning. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during hazy periods and secure loose outdoor items ahead of breezy evening winds.

Wednesday turns sunny and mild, with highs around 74°F and calmer winds. By Thursday, a new round of showers arrives, particularly after 1 p.m. Winds turn breezy again from the east, and Thursday night could bring additional rain with gusts up to 20 mph.

Friday will stay cooler, topping out near 55°F under mostly cloudy skies. Another round of light showers is expected Friday night.

Looking into the weekend, Saturday offers partly sunny skies and a high near 62°F, with a small chance of rain returning Saturday night into Sunday. Highs Sunday could reach 67°F.

More updates and possible advisories are expected by Wednesday afternoon as conditions evolve.
