East Grand Forks, MN – Minnesota’s early spring chill isn’t done yet. A Tuesday rain and snow mix could bring slick travel to East Grand Forks and surrounding areas.

According to the National Weather Service, a 30% chance of snow will begin around 1 p.m. Tuesday, quickly shifting to a mix of rain and snow by mid-afternoon. U.S. Route 2 travelers should expect reduced visibility and potential slushy conditions through early evening. Winds will remain light but shift westward, becoming 5 to 7 mph later in the day.

Temperatures will reach a high near 43°F, well below average for late March. Tuesday night drops to a low of 29°F with partly cloudy skies. No major accumulation is expected, but surfaces may still become slick as temperatures fall.

Wednesday brings mostly sunny skies with highs near 48°F, a brief spring-like reprieve. However, the weather remains unsettled. A second system Thursday could bring another rain/snow mix, with a 50% chance of precipitation and wind gusts up to 22 mph.
