Minneapolis, MN – A spring snowstorm is set to impact Minnesota from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening, bringing heavy snow, rain, and a wintry mix to much of the state. The National Weather Service warns that the heaviest snow is expected in central and western areas, with some regions receiving up to six inches or more of snow.

According to the National Weather Service, the snow will begin in the afternoon Tuesday and continue into Wednesday morning. As the storm moves south, areas like Little Falls and Alexandria may see snowfall rates as high as 6–8 inches. The storm will also affect the Twin Cities, with up to 3 inches expected. Snowfall will be wet and slushy due to temperatures in the mid-30s, with the potential for hazardous travel conditions, particularly during the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.

Paved surfaces may become slushy, with accumulation expected on grassy surfaces. The NWS advises drivers to stay cautious and be prepared for sudden changes in conditions as the snow accumulates, particularly in the areas with the heaviest snow bands.
